Match Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Connacht Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2010-12-31

Leinster begin the new year with a derby match against Connacht. It's just past the mid-point of our regular season fixtures having played half our Magners League games and four of the six Heineken Cup pool matches. So what better time to have a look at how Leinster are progressing under their new coach Joe Schmidt.

Match Report: Ulster Rugby vs Leinster Rugby

by Yvonne Kelly, 2010-12-29

The OLSC brought 3 bus loads of post-Christmas revellers to Belfast. No-one can dispute the welcome that always awaits the Mexicans when they travel north of the border but there are a couple of other things that always come to mind when we start to think about our annual trip up north - the bus and the weather. The bus journey has become the stuff of legend and possibly a few myths exist at this stage. There was the year when the bus got lost and ended up in the grounds of Stormont and another when on taking a wrong turn off Ravenhill road we ended up facing into a parade and having to reverse the whole way back out. On another occasion the weather got the better of the transport and the bus had to return to Dublin minus a window wiper.

Match Preview: Ulster Rugby vs Leinster Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2010-12-26

Last week's match was really one of those days to remember for Leinster fans.

Leinster needed to beat Clermont and they did so in such style, that the result was effectively decided with half an hour to go. It was a truly awesome performance, one of Leinster's best ever. We all know what a big team Clermont are, but Leinster upped the stakes physically from the previous week and simply didn't let them play. They combined this with some fantastic attacking rugby and this time when they got to the line, they made sure they finished off their chances. Obviously the lads were reading last week's preview!!

Match Report: Scarlets vs Leinster Rugby

by William Wilson, 2010-12-06

I started last week's match report by acknowledging the effort made by Leinster fans to get to the match in Wales. This week it was another trip to Wales and with the deterioration in the weather there were more tales of travel woes from the dedicated Leinster support. Stories of people nine hours in the airport still not getting there and UK based fans turning back when their window wipers gave up on the M4 have appeared on the forum. Fair play to both those who tried and those who succeeded - and there were definitely some who succeeded.

Match Preview: Scarlets vs Leinster Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2010-12-06

Despite the arctic weather conditions, Leinster's game against the Scarlets tomorrow evening seems set to go ahead at this point. Despite their current injury problems and the way the weather has disrupted their preparations, Leinster will be desperate to play the match with their crucial Heineken Cup double-header against Clermont coming up next. Joe Schmidt may need to get new rosary beads though as the ones he used last week clearly didn't work. There were more injuries to outside backs as first Brian O'Driscoll fractured his jaw against Argentina and then Andrew Conway suffered a neck injury in the defeat to the Ospreys. Thankfully neither of the injuries are too serious and both players should be back within a month but it does leave the backline resources looking very stretched.
