Match Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Ulster Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2009-12-24

Leinster return to the Magners League after a very successful two weeks in the Heineken Cup. Two wins and 10 points was exactly what was needed to bring Leinster's campaign back to life and they achieved them with some style. It must be said, it felt like the old days seeing Leinster running in a hatful of tries again. Some might say that the Scarlets' defence was weak, but in recent times Leinster have played worse teams than them but failed to score tries.

Match Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Scarlets

Match Preview: Newport Gwent Dragons vs Leinster Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2009-12-04

Leinster return to action this Sunday after an Autumn International campaign that was rewarding but costly. Leinster have three new internationals caps in Cian Healy, Jonny Sexton and Sean O'Brien, but unfortunately injuries have cost us Sexton in the short-term and Luke Fitzgerald for probably the rest of the season. Losing Fitzgerald, our top try scorer for the past two seasons is a huge setback but the cover we have in the back three softens the blow somewhat. In terms of Sexton though, options are a little thinner on the ground.

Match Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Cardiff Blues

by Jim O'Connor, 2009-10-30

Leinster face Cardiff in the RDS tomorrow in their final match for five weeks before they take a break for the Autumn Internationals. They have a five-three win/loss ratio from the eight matches they've played so far the season, not great but not terrible either considering the disruption caused by having certain players unavailable at different times. A win tomorrow will make it a six-three record, which will leave the Leinster management relatively satisfied going into their autumnal hiatus.
