Season Preview: Six Nations Preview 2011

It's that time of the year again!
We've slogged our way through January and as a reward we've got the Six Nations Championship to enjoy. Some punters might regard it as of lesser importance in a World Cup year but that's just nonsense. A Grand Slam for Ireland this year will mean just as much as it did in 2009 and it will still mean a hell of a lot more than losing in a semi-final in the World Cup. The Six Nations will always stand alone as a worthy achievement in it's own right.

Match Report: Leinster 'A' vs Currie

On a calm and fresh Sunday, perfect conditions for rugby, the Leinster "Assassins" took on Currie from Edinburgh in the British and Irish cup. Leinster were looking to follow on from their dramatic win the week before against Worcester Warriors to stake a claim for the next round. Currie on the other hand were coming into the game in poor form in the competition only gaining a solitary point for their efforts.

A small but merry band of Leinster supporters congregated in the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes to watch Leinster take on Racing Metro on a cold Friday night. As a supporter it was a strange experience being on a temporary stand in a stadium that once held 60,000 people and hosted the National Team.

Clermont were the French Champions, Saracens were the English Premiership runners up and Racing Metro 92 were another big French club with loads of money.
