A bird's eye view from the terrace: The thing about Llanelli

by Yvonne Kelly, 2010-12-02

Llanelli is always the best supported away trip for Leinster in the Magners league outside of the inter-pros. At this stage it has almost reached cult status. The funny thing about this though is that the origin of some of the recent travelling support lies at a match when Leinster weren't playing! The Heineken cup 2005/2006 was the second year in a row that Leinster were drawn in the same pool as Bath. Having done all the touristy things in Bath on a long weekend the previous season, a group of fans decided to get the train down to Llanelli on the Saturday to watch them take on Trevor Brennan's Toulouse.

Match Report: Ospreys vs Leinster Rugby

by William Wilson, 2010-12-01

It was a small group of Leinster fans that travelled to Osprelia for last weekend's Magner's league clash between Ospreys and Leinster, a journey made all the more difficult by the weather. Between delays at Dublin airport and poor driving conditions on the UK roads great effort was made to attend.

Match Preview: Ospreys vs Leinster Rugby

by Jim O'Connor, 2010-12-02

With Ireland's seemingly never ending Autumn International series finally drawing to an close this Sunday, Leinster provide the after-dinner entertainment as they take on the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium. With one eye on that match, Leinster coach Joe Schmidt will have the rosary beads out just praying it doesn't cost him any more players. Rob Kearney and Luke Fitzgerald will now miss the Clermont double header as they both picked up knee injuries last week and won't be back until the New Year at the earliest. Any more injuries and the backline will be stretched to breaking point so it's vital that above all else, Leinster's backs stay healthy this weekend.

Match Report: Leinster Rugby vs Newport Gwent Dragons

by William Wilson, 2010-11-22

With Irish rugby caught up in ticket price and selection debates and die-hard fans watching an underfilled Lansdowne road on the TV there was almost a sense of relief among Leinster fans to be returning to the bread and butter of Magners league on a Friday night in the RDS. Leinster were looking to extend their five match unbeaten run in the Magners against third from bottom Dragons, but with Leinster hit much harder by international call-ups than the Welsh side the outcome was far from a foregone conclusion.

Match Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Newport Gwent Dragons

by Jim O'Connor, 2010-11-18

With the sorry state of the national team at the moment, Leinster fans will be glad to get back to the RDS tomorrow night as the Magners League resumes after a three-week break. Leinster face the Dragons looking to extend their winning run to six games and continue their march up the table. In their last match, they beat Edinburgh to successfully complete their 'perfect October' with five wins from five games. It was far from pretty but when you considered the relative strength of the two teams, no one was complaining (unless you were a hysterical, comically ill-informed media pundit of course!)
