Edinburgh Gunners 8 - 31 Leinster, Edinburgh

Leinster won their final Celtic League encounter of the 2005-06 season with this emphatic win over a below strength Edinburgh Gunners side.

With two first-half tries from captain and man of the match Brian O'Driscoll, when Leinster were down to fourteen men, along with second-half tries from Shane Horgan, on forty-six minutes and a fourth from Felipe Contepomi on fifty-one minutes, the bonus point was secured long before the end of the match.

However, it was not enough as league leaders Ulster managed to pull of a late victory in Wales, beating the Ospreys by nineteen point to seventeen. Ulster grabbed their dramatic victory with a drop-goal from 45 metres from veteran outhalf, David Humphries. The kick managed to hit both uprights before going over for the all important points. As a result of their vistory in Wales, Ulster won the Celtic League by a single point.
