Match Preview: Newport Gwent Dragons vs Leinster Rugby

For the second season running Leinster conclude their Magners League campaign in Rodney Parade against the Dragons.  Last season's match was played the week after Leinster had lifted the Magners League trophy.  It was a really good, free-flowing match played in a fun atmosphere.  This season though, it very much serves as the appetizer to the main course next week in Edinburgh.

Leinster took on the Scarlets in a match that could have been a mouth-watering one had both sides not seen their league ambitions ended prematurely. As it was there were very different prizes in mind for both teams. For Scarlets it was their two Lions who would be looking to put in a performance to secure them a Test place against the Springboks and for the rest of the team Heineken Cup qualification was on their minds. For Leinster it was all about building momentum for the biggest game of many of their lives.

Leinster's magnificent win last Saturday over Munster was the greatest day in their history! There have been great days before when Leinster have won with great style, but this time they married the style with real substance as the defence was simply incredible. Last week we said that to win they would have to rattle Munster while being almost perfect themselves. However it's one thing saying it here, another thing entirely to do it on the pitch.
