Leinster have defeated the Border Reivers in what was a hard fought encounter played tonight in Netherdale.

The scoring was opened by Leinster flanker Niall Ronan, who scored from a pick and drive off a lineout. The second try came from more forward mauling, this time with Ronan McCormack the man to rise with the ball. The third try was once more scored through good forward work resulted in Will Green scoring on the left. Contepomi added the fourth shortly before the break.

Leinster lead by 27 points to 19 at the interval, but Borders came out with all guns blazing in the second period and could easily had taken full points, but for a Contepomi try with ten minutes left on the clock. Leinster kept the ball close for the final minutes to run the clock down and came away with an important win, which puts them top of the Celtic League.
