Leinster (14) 40 - 21 (14) Benetton Treviso
Donnybrook, Dublin
Referee: George Clancy
Wednesday 14th March 2007, 18:30

Leinster took on Treviso in a friendly match at Donnybrook, organised to keep players match sharp over the international break. The match itself was an entertaining affair, and those who turned out for this Wednesday tea time clash were rewarded with eight tries.

Deon Kingi scored first for the visitors, but Luke Fitzgerald responded for Leinster following Stephen Keogh's good work. The Italian side resumed the lead with a converted try by Marius Goosen. Again Leinster responded, in an end-to-end first half and Jackman crossed, Contepomi adding the extras to send the teams in at half time level.

Leinster dominated the second period as Michael Cheika emptied his bench. Rob Kearney crossed soon after, following good work from Kevin McLoughlin. Keith Gleeson and Jamie Heaslip also adding tries to give Leinster a comprehensive lead. It was the Italians who had the final word however with Brussolo ending the match with a try.

Leinster will be pleased with a satisfactory work out ahead of a crucial time in the Magners league and Heineken cup.
